The Buzz
We are 3 days out from the show and it seems like Chipapalooza has more buzz than ever before. People seem pretty excited and we hope that we've created something that people really look forward to and enjoy. All of the Chipapalooza fans have done an amazing job promoting the concert - we are seeing about 50 tweets a day about Chipapalooza, over 1,000 fans on facebook are helping promote the show, we have been mentioned in the Washington Post, Baltimore Sun, 98 Rock online, on WRNR radio, and even in a Ny Times best-selling book by Oprah Winfrey's trainer, Bob Greene. We've had tons of people volunteer to work the concert, we have a bunch of great sponsors supporting the event, and we have a great venue - The Bowie Baysox Stadium, where many other huge artists have played at - Bob Dylan, Ludacris, and even Willie Nelson.
After the very first Chipapalooza, many people demanded that we do more concerts. This led us to form a dream - what if Chipapalooza became the next Virgin Fest, or Bonaroo, or Woodstock? At first, it seemed far-fetched - we knew nothing about concerts, the music industry, or how to run a non-profit business. However, we have persevered, kept our minds open to new ideas and suggestions from attendees, we've recruited talented people to plan the concert, and we've maintained a passionate dedication to our cause. As a result, the concert has grown and we have raised more money for the JDRF. While we are pleased with how far we've come, we are not content and we will continue working harder than ever to improve the concert and turn it into one of the best festivals in the world that raises enough money to finally cure diabetes.
We are so close to a cure with trials already curing diabetes in mice. The money raised at our show can make a real difference in the next steps towards a cure in humans. You can make a difference by attending Chipapalooza - and you can have a great time doing it.
I can't wait to see everyone at this year's show!

Thank you!
Thank you times a million to every wonderful person that came out last night with friends and family to dine at Burtonsville's premier restaurant CHEEBURGER CHEEBURGER!
It was awesome to see familiar faces and even better to know Chipapalooza will get 20% of all the proceeds from last night!!!
Thanks go out especially to Manny, Cheeburger manager who set the whole thing up for us, and star servers Lauri and Erin!!! Sadly, Lauri did not wear her mini backpack.

Exciting Updates from ChipapaloozaLand
We are rocking and rolling our way along to this year's show and EVERYONE IS GETTING SO PUMPED!!
There is word of a surprise guest star... (hint: vroooomm vroom vroom)
Jeremy Vest is practicing his drum solo for his song with Victory by Revenge and a killer finale to the show!
The back of all the ticket has free Chic-fil-A coupons on the back! (breakfast sandwich here I come)
We got another AWESOME volunteer to help us out...if you see Maral at UMBC decked out in Chipapalooza stuff or hanging up posters say hi!
We are definitely having Tye-dye t-shirts...oh you know the tye-dye station will be back!

Awesome Weekend
What an AMAZING weekend. Saturday, bright and early at 8 a.m, the Chipapalooza team went to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk, starting at the Orioles stadium, where we handed out major amounts of flyers, pens, keychains, posters, t-shirts and collected many an email address. We got tons of people interested in the show, asking about merch, asking about bands, asking how they could volunteer, if they could buy tickets right now- IT WAS FANTASTIC.
Later in the day, we hit up the Victory by Revenge show where we gave out more posters and merchandise, and Victory by Revenge announced Chipapalooza on stage! Yes!
As we get closer to the show, we're going to be ramping up our presence at local shows- so if you know some we should hit up, LET US KNOW!

Volunteer Party!!
Hello lovely Chipapalooza Blog Readers!!
Exciting news...
The first official CHIPAPALOOZA 2010 VOLUNTEER PARTY IS COMING UP!
WHEN: April 29, (next Thursday)
WHERE: Ledos in Fulton
TIME: 7:30 p.m.
What are we going to be doing?
If you are interested in helping out with ANYTHING AT ALL before (i.e. creating posters, working on advertising) during (security, helping out the bands set up etc.) or after (so many possibilities!) then this is the place for you! We need jacks (and jills of course) of all trades, artists, marketers, number-crunchers, band enthusiasts and of course those who just want to give a little back to the community and have fun at a sweet event!
We will be giving all of our wonderful volunteers

*FREE TICKETS TO THE SHOW
*letting you know all the ways you can help out, score more free stuff and meet the bands!

Gearing up for 2010...
After last year's smashing success of a show the Chipapalooza team is looking forward to another day of fun in the snow at this year's show!
As we start grinding the gears the prepare for this summer's concert the Chipapalooza team is looking for bands, volunteers, artists, marketers, thinkers and need-to-build-their-resumers/college applications people to help out in building the best Chipapalooza of all time!
